The Hong Kong University BC Alumni Endowment Fund was established at Simon Fraser University in 1993 by members of our Alumni Association to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of our Alma Mater. The purpose of this Fund is to promote understanding of Pacific Rim culture through awarding this Hong Kong University BC Alumni scholarship and this Award will be granted to a Co-op student who is doing his or her work placement in Hong Kong.

The HKU-UBC Award was established in 2010 as a meaningful celebration of our Association’s 40th anniversary milestone, fostering valuable academic collaboration and cultural exchange between the University of Hong Kong and the University of British Columbia (UBC). Through strong community support, we successfully exceeded our fundraising target, creating a robust permanent endowment that enables our Association to provide exchange awards annually.

Award criteria and selection process: Qualified candidates must be motivated UBC undergraduate students accepted into the respected University of Hong Kong exchange program. Thoughtful selection recommendations are provided by UBC Student Enrolment Services and Awards, working closely with Go Global, UBC’s dedicated student exchange coordination office.
